The iRecover project is an Erasmus+ Sport initiative that aims to enhance health and performance in amateur sports through the implementation of post-exercise recovery programs through digital tools. By combining science, technology and teamwork in recovery, it improves general wellbeing and athletic performance. By collaborating with sport institutions, universities and technology organisations across Europe, we have develop a digital app, a recovery intervention programme and a handbook which promotes effectively the recovery practices.
Main objectives and expected results
iRecover seeks to promote healthier and more effective recovery in sport practices. Its main objectives are:
- To identify the best post-exercise practices across multiple sports
- To design a recovery intervention programme, which involve coaches and athletes
- Evaluate the stress-recovery balance using an allostatic perspective to monitor athletes’ wellbeing and performance
